October 18th
Our next UUMANE Food Policy Working Group Meeting will be Wednesday, October 18, at 7 pm. Please come and help keep the momentum up. When anyone of us can report to our congregations that we have folks from so many congregations actively represented in our group, people take notice and it gives weight and energy to our projects. This is one way we can truly harness the power of UUMANE to move towards our goals.
November 12th
Our big event of the upcoming season will be a Holiday Plant-Based Cooking webinar with popular and much in demand chef, Dr. Ruby Latham, at 12:30 on Sunday, November 12 at 12:30 pm. She is a favorite of the Veg Society of DC which alone is a tremendous endorsement.
Dr. Ruby will demo an entree, dessert and holiday libation while discussing their nutritional features and how to adapt to various dietary preferences such as gluten free, or sugar free. A few members of the group will each present and briefly discuss an already prepared dish, using one of their own tried and true favorite recipes, or one of Dr Ruby’s mouthwatering creations. Come hear what scrumptious dishes will be included and help decide how to select the limited studio audience of 12 and decide the logistics of the event.
